Talc and a $70 Million Verdict

21 November 2016

By: Weiss, Handler & Cornwell, P.A.

Earlier this year, we wrote about Talc and pending lawsuits.  It is now November 2016 and Johnson & Johnson has lost its third lawsuit that has alleged that the pharmaceutical company’s baby powder caused ovarian cancer.

Deborah Giannecchini was awarded $70 million by jurors in St. Louis.  Ms. Giannecchini used the company’s powder for forty years, but stopped three years ago when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Johnson & Johnson has reported that they will appeal the decision.  For more information on talc or any other product liability issue, please contact William Cornwell, Esq. at (561) 997-9995.
