A seasoned real estate and business lawyer with over forty years of experience, Lowen Hankin has completed many varied transactions throughout the U.S. Having represented public companies, banks, developers and investors, and family-controlled businesses in both transactional and adversarial matters, Mr. Hankin's list of noteworthy projects include the sale of an iconic Times Square office building; the rezoning and development of a marina complex in Atlantic City; disposition of a 1,200 acre private island in coastal Georgia; subdivisions of large tracts of land; the sale of an East Coast hotel chain; and representation of landlords and tenants in hundreds of retail, office and industrial leases. Mr. Hankin has closed more than $800 million of commercial mortgage loans, both for lenders as well as borrowers.

In the commercial leasing arena, Mr. Hankin has negotiated and closed hundreds of commercial, office, and industrial leases, including office leases in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Florida; shopping center, supermarket, and restaurant leases in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Manhattan; and industrial and warehouse leases throughout the Northeast and in Indiana.

Mr. Hankin has also provided legal counsel in business, corporate, and organizational matters, including the resolution of interfamily governance disputes, generational transfers of control, sales of operating businesses, and formation of business entities together with the drafting of their underlying operational and funding documents.

Admitted to the bars of Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Mr. Hankin has appeared before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits, and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hankin earned his B.A. from Trinity College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was named Valedictorian, and received his J.D. from Yale Law School.
